The Mousetrap Tour Extends to Birmingham and beyond in the New Year

Date: 17 April 2012

The Mousetrap’s 60th anniversary tour has further extended into 2013, with shows commencing in the New Year at the New Alexandra Theatre Birmingham on February 4.

Originally planned to complete its tour in early December in Bradford, the new dates will see the tour visit Stoke-on-Trent, Liverpool, Aylesbury, Brighton, Bristol and York after its initial Birmingham date.

Agatha Christie’s legendary murder mystery play will have been playing at St Martin’s Theatre in the West End for a record breaking 60 years on November 25 of this year. The tour will be over 60 weeks, to coincide with the diamond jubilee of the classic tale.

The play did perform a short tour of the UK before its West End debut, playing in theatres Oxford, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham’s Alexandra, where it opened on 17 November 1952 starring Richard Attenborough and Sheila Sims.

The Mousetrap continues to play in the West End with booking through 15 December 2012. Tickets for the new dates are on sale now.
