WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
With a wink to Charles Bukowski's cult character Henry Chinaski, choreographer Kylie Walters coaxes seven testosterone-crazed men to live through an evening of debauchery and revelation. Trapped in a rock-band's home studio as they try to finish their new album, this live concert/show collides virtuoso Belgian rock duo I Love Sarah's (Jeroen Stevens/Rutger De Brabander) scorching math rock with five of Scotland's best performers (David Hughes Dance) amongst copious amounts of beer and bravaderie.
Adagietto tells the story of the betrayal of Saint Sebastian; a solo by the godfather of UK modern dance Bob Cohan. Spitfire was the first hit by world renowned choreographer Matthew Bourne. It places Perrot's famous pas de quatre in the world of men's underwear advertising and mail order catalogues. Imploded - Une Reverie Romatique, Tanja Liedtke's quirky and athletic tribute to Les Sylphides, sees the dancers decked out in retro sports kit, portraying mischievous sylphs in the moonlight. Finally, seminal choreographer Cathy Marston (BERN:Ballett) present a new commission inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth.
