The musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel will make its European premiere at the Hope Mill Theatre this November.

Little Women has a score from Jason Howland, a book by Allan Knee and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein. The show originally opened on Broadway in 2005.

The production will be produced by the team behind Pippin, which is currently running at the Hope Mill Theatre. The piece is directed by Bronagh Lagan with choreography from Iona Holland and design from Nik Corrall.

Little Women was originally published in 1868 and follows the story of Jo, an aspiring writer living with her four sisters and mother during the Civil War in America.

Producer Katy Lipson said: "This is our fifth production at Hope Mill Theatre in just over a year and we couldn't be more excited to be presenting the European premiere of Little Women there."

Little Women the Musical runs from 9 November to 9 December.
