Dame Janet Suzman is to star in the first UK revival of Martin Sherman's Rose as part of HOME's new season.

Following its premiere in 1999, the piece returns to the stage for the first time in 18 years and will be directed by Richard Beecham.

The Manchester venue also announced that artistic director Walter Meierjohann will direct a new production of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, to run from 3 to 18 November.

The piece is to run as part of a building-wide season focusing on Russia, with more details announced in the new year.

Viva! Spanish & Latin American Festival 2017 (31 March to 17 April) will also take place at the theatre and will feature two UK premieres – One-Hit Wonders by Sol Pico and Agrupacion Senor Serrano's Birdie.

The already announced world premiere of Paul Auster's City of Glass also runs as part of the season, adapted by Duncan Macmillan and directed by Leo Warner.

The season also includes Rufus Norris and Carol Ann Duffy's My Country; A Work in Progress, Gecko's The Wedding and Shit Theatre's Letters to Windsor House.
