Having proved a huge hit when it toured in 2012, The Hitchhiker’s Guide To the Galaxy Radio Show – Live! is set to be performed at the Manchester Opera House in October.

Adapted from Douglas Adams‘ novels, the show helps fans of all ages to re-discover Vogons, Babel Fish, and Marvin the Paranoid Android in a lively and fun atmosphere.

Over the five Hitchhiker’s radio series, the Voice of the Book was played first by Peter Jones and then by William Franklyn. With both these voices sadly now gone, guests ‘Voices’ will join the original cast on stage. All are fans of the Hitchhiker’s books and many have personal connections to Douglas either as friends or through his work.

The Voice of the Book will be played over the two nights by Danny John-Jules – ‘Cat’ from Red Dwarf (Tuesday 8 October) and comedienne Shappi Korshandi (Wednesday 9 October).

They will join Simon Jones as Arthur Dent, other members of the original cast and comedian Mitch Benn as Zaphod Beeblebrox.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide To the Galaxy Radio Show – Live! will be performed at Manchester Opera House between 8-9 October.
