Told by an Idiot’s Too Clever By Half comes to the Royal Exchange in July

Following the success of You Can’t Take It With You, the Royal Exchange Theatre and the acclaimed Told by an Idiot once again join forces to give their unique take on Too Clever By Half, Alexandr Ostrovsky’s satire about the problem of honesty in a lying hypocritical world.

Charming, ambitious, smooth-talking liar Gloumov is determined to climb to the top – and he doesn’t care how he does it, or who he steps on to get there.
The piece has been made especially for the amazing Royal Exchange theatre space, and is described as the perfect summer show for all the family.

Adapted by Rodney Ackland, directed by Paul Hunter – Too Clever By Half’s cast includes Richard Braine, Hayley Carmichael, Penelope Dimond and Dyfan Dwyfor.
The play is designed by Laura Hopkins, with sound by Adrienne Quartly and lighting by Philip Gladwell.

Too Clever By Half is at the Royal Exchange from 10 July – 17 August 2013.
