Full casting has been announced for the Donmar Warehouse and Sheffield Theatres co-production of Peter Gill's The York Realist.

Joining the previously announced Ben Batt and Lesley Nicol will be Jonathan Bailey (Broadchurch, American Psycho), Lucy Black (Strife, Chichester), Brian Fletcher (professional theatre debut), Katie West (Lela & Co, Royal Court) and Matthew Wilson (Snack Family Robinson, Rose Theatre Kingston).

Gill's play – about family, love and the clash between regional and London culture – premiered at the Lowry in 2001 before transferring to the Bristol Old Vic, the Royal Court Theatre and the Novello the following year.

Sheffield Theatres' artistic director Robert Hastie returns to the Donmar to direct following his productions of My Night With Reg and Splendour.

The York Realist runs at the Donmar Warehouse from 13 February to 24 March, and at Sheffield Crucible from 27 March to 7 April.
