An original London cast recording of Stephen Schwartz’s Working will be released this spring, featuring never before released tracks by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Featuring the original UK cast, the album is the first recording of Working released since the original Broadway cast recording was released 40 years ago.

WhatsOnStage were given an exclusive first listen to "It's An Art", which is written by Stephen Schwartz, ahead of the album's release on 2 March.

The recording will include all original London cast members, including Gillian Bevan, Dean Chisnall, Krysten Cummings, Siubhan Harrison, Peter Polycarpou and Liam Tamne, as well as Patrick Coulter, Nicola Espallardo, Izuka Hoyle, Luke Latchman, Huon Mackley and Kerri Norville.

The musical opened in summer 2017, and was nominated for Best Off-West End Production and at the WhatsOnStage Awards. It tells the story of ordinary American citizens often overlooked by society.

Schwartz said of the album: "I'm delighted that not only has this superb cast of Working been preserved, but that there is finally an album that includes the wonderful new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. For me, an album of this new version of the show is long overdue and very welcome."

The album was recorded live at Southwark Playhouse with additional recordings at Abbey Road Studios.
