Wicked extends in the West End to 2018

Stephen Schwartz’s musical continues at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre

New dates have been announced for Stephen Schwartz's musical Wicked.

The show, which is currently running at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in the West End will now book until 26 May 2018.

Wicked recently became the 17th longest running show in London's theatre history and celebrated ten years in the West End.

From 30 January, Willemijn Verkaik returns to the role of Elphaba alongside Suzie Mathers as Glinda. The cast also includes Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), Idriss Kargbo (Boq), Alice Fearn (standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (standby for Glinda).

The show is based on George Maguire's novel, a prequel to the famous The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Songs in the show include "Defying Gravity" and "The Wizard and I".

Wicked is now booking at the Apollo Theatre until 26 May 2018.
