The 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards

WhatsOnStage is thrilled to announce that tickets are now on sale for the 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards Concert.

This year's concert takes place at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday 19 February 2017. The event is open to the general public and tickets can be bought from here. This year, voting for the shortlists opens on 28 October and closes on 24 November. Voting for the winners then opens on 1 December and closes on 31 January.

The 17th Annual WhatsOnstage Awards will feature two extra categories. Best Video Design and Best Costume Design will also be up for consideration.

WhatsOnStage's Chief Operating Officer Sita McIntosh said today, "We are delighted to launch this year's WhatsOnStage Awards which sees us return to the Prince of Wales Theatre. Now in their 17th year, the awards go from strength to strength attracting the biggest names in the theatre industry. This year we are very happy to add two new awards to our line up – Best Costume and Best Video Design sponsored by PRG XL Video."

Oliver Luff, senior account manager at PRG XL Video said: "We are very pleased to collaborate with the WhatsOnStage Awards to sponsor this brand new award for Best Video Design. This is the first award worldwide to specifically recognise video design in theatre and it is long overdue!

"It's fantastic to see video design, and designers recognised for successfully transitioning video from an emerging 'black art' technology to what is now an integral and critical part of many productions."

The WhatsOnStage Awards are the only major theatre awards in which you, the public, decide who will win. Previous winners include Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Gatiss, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kerry Ellis, Matt Henry, David Tennant and Daniel Radcliffe.
