A week in the life of Lucia di Lammermoor's Lisette Oropesa
Cuban-American soprano Lisette Oropesa is making her Royal Opera House debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor. Her past roles include Nannetta (Falstaff), Sophie (Werther), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Gilda (Rigoletto) for the Metropolictan Opera. She trained as a flautist before studying at Louisiana State University.
Lucia di Lammermoor is Donizette's opera about a woman forced to breaking point and is directed by Katie Mitchell and conducted by Michele Mariotti. Oropesa leads a cast including Charles Castronovo and Christopher Maltman.
