Warwick Davis and Summer Strallen cast in new musical concert at the Palladium

The cast also includes David Bedella and Amy Lennox

New British musical Eugenius! will be presented in a concert version at the London Palladium next month with a cast including Harry Potter star Warwick Davis, Olivier Award-winner David Bedella, Kinky Boots star Amy Lennox and West End favourite Summer Strallen.

The concert – which takes place on 29 June – will be narrated by comedian Marcus Brigstocke with Brian Blessed providing a guest voiceover.

Written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins and produced by Warwick Davis, Eugenius! is set in the 1980s and tells a classic love story between two teenagers, Eugene and Janey.

When Eugene's superhero comic takes him to Hollywood he becomes the unlikely hero of his own intergalactic battle.

Ian Talbot and Michael Jibson will direct the concert premiere performance, with choreography by Aaron Renfree and Nick Winston, musical supervision by Steve Power and musical direction by Nathan Jarvis.

Warwick Davis said today: "We are really excited to be bringing a brand new, original production to the London stage. The [concert] will give the audience a chance to experience this new '80s-inspired musical before it is staged in the West End as a full production next year."

Eugenius! plays the London Palladium on Wednesday 29 June 2016.
