Lauren Samuels, Ashleigh Gray and Lizzy Connolly perform a song with musical director Tamara Saringer from Vanities the Musical exclusively for WhatsOnStage.

Opening at Trafalgar Studios next month, the musical follows three cheerleader best friends in the 1960s leaning what it means to be a "good woman".

The new production is directed and choreographed by Racky Plews (Footloose and American Idiot). The musical, which has a book by Jack Heifner and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum, makes its European premiere in its 10th year.

The musical, set in Texas, is based on the original 1976 play by Heifner and follows the three friends through high school. The show had one of the longest off-Broadway runs on record.

Vanities the Musical runs at Trafalgar Studios from 6 September to 1 October with previews from 1 September.
