5. Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra

In rep at Royal Shakespeare Theatre, 23 March to 9 September

The RSC kick off their Roman season with the first two of four plays. Angus Jackson's take on Julius Caesar stars Andrew Woodall in the titular role alongside Alex Waldmann as Brutus. Josette Simon plays Cleopatra with Antony Byrne as Antony in Iqbal Khan's production of Antony and Cleopatra.

4. Love in Idleness

Menier Chocolate Factory, 20 March to 29 April

Trevor Nunn returns to the Menier with this revival of Terence Rattigan's play about a boy who returns home from war to find his widowed mother is the mistress of a cabinet minister. The cast features Eve Best, Anthony Head and Helen George.

3. The Kid Stays in the Picture

Royal Court, 20 March to 8 April

Danny Huston, known for his roles in The Aviator and X-Men, makes his London stage debut in this play from Complicite's Simon McBurney, about the life of film producer Robert Evans.

2. One Love: The Bob Marley Musical

Birmingham Repertory Theatre, 24 March to 8 April

Get up, stand up, and make your way to the Birmingham Rep for the world premiere of Kwame Kwei-Armah's new musical about the Jamaican singer-songwriter. Mitchell Brunings makes his UK stage debut in the titular role alongside Alexia Khadime as Rita Marley.

1. An American in Paris

Dominion Theatre, 21 March to 30 September

Christopher Wheeldon's adaptation of George and Ira Gershwin's musical comes to the West End following its run on Broadway. Based on the Academy Award-winning film starring Gene Kelly, the show includes the songs "I Got Rhythm", "'S Wonderful" and "They Can't Take That Away From Me". Look out for remarkable turns from the show's lead couple, Robert Fairchild and Brit Leanne Cope.
