The stage production of The Wind in the Willows, which ran at the London Palladium last year, will be screened in cinemas this Easter half term.

Based on the classic children's story by Kenneth Grahame, the new musical has a book by Julian Fellowes, music and lyrics by Stiles and Drewe and direction by Rachel Kavanaugh. The piece follows the various characters of the book including Mr Toad, Ratty and Mole, as they follow Toad's insatiable need for speed.

The musical, which opened in June 2017, starred Rufus Hound as Toad, Simon Lipkin as Ratty, Craig Mather as Mole, Neil McDermott as Chief Weisel, Denise Welch as Mrs Otter and Gary Wilmot as Badger.

The show will play at a number of cinema locations across the UK and Ireland throughout the Easter holiday week, with both daytime and evening listings. The show's website has full details of venues and times. It will also be available on Broadway HD from August 2018.

Other screened versions of London shows coming soon are filmed versions of the Donmar Warehouse's production of The Shakespeare Trilogy, and Andrew Scott in the Almeida and West End production of Hamlet, which will be broadcast on the BBC this spring. The West End production of An American in Paris will be screened on 18 May.
