The new Union Theatre will open with a revival production of The Fix.

Michael Strassen's show ran at the original Union Theatre in 2012 and will now be the premiere production at the theatre's new home.

Featuring a book and lyrics by John Dempsy and music by Dana P. Rowe, the musical takes audiences on a ride through the American political machine as Violet is determined to create the perfect politician out of her son.

The production is presented by Atomicus Entertainment. Casting is yet to be announced.

The patrons of the new Union Theatre have also been announced. West End star Ruthie Henshall and Olivier-Award winning choreographer Stephen Mear will both take up the post.

Henshall said: "The success of off-West End theatres is vital to the future of the industry as a whole. The most exciting new ideas, skills and talent are found in venues just like The Union which is why I am so proud to be their new patron. Over the years it has captivated audiences with imaginative and stimulating programming."

Commenting on the premiere production, she added: "Now, as the company moves into it's beautiful new home – and with an electrifying first production in Michael Strassen’s The Fix – the future of The Union – and London theatre – has never looked brighter."

Additionally, Mear said: "The Union Theatre has brought to the fore such an amazing array of productions, encouraging innovative ideas and nurturing them in to new and exciting projects that reach into the hearts of the audience. I personally would like to thank The Union for inspiring so many and providing such an invaluable learning platform and springboard for the next generation in order for the tremendously imaginative and creative work to continue within such a wonderfully diverse industry."

Tickets for The Fix go on sale on 6 June from the Union Theatre website. The production runs from 13 July to 6 August.
