The Fast Show's Simon Day to star in Waiting for Waiting for Godot

The comedian will star alongside Laura Kirman and James Marlowe

Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of Waiting for Waiting for Godot at the St James Theatre.

Simon Day, best known for his roles in the The Fast Show, will star as Ester in Mark Bell's production.

Casting also includes Laura Kirman (The Play That Goes Wrong) who will play Laura and James Marlowe (Macbeth, Mercury Theatre) who plays Val.

Written by Dave Hanson, the comedy is about two understudies who spend their time backstage pondering art, life and existence. They discover that understudies are the only people who understand Samuel Beckett's play Waiting For Godot.

Mark Bell (The Play That Goes Wrong) directs the play produced by Libby Brodie Productions, with set and costumes by Sophia Simensky, lighting from Charlie Hodsdon and sound by Andrew Josephs.

Waiting for Waiting for Godot will run at the St James Theatre from 1 to 24 September.
