Steve Pemberton, Ralf Little and Katherine Parkinson to star in Dead Funny

Terry Johnson’s comedy will open in the West End in November

Casting has been announced for a new production of Terry Johnson's comedy Dead Funny.

Steve Pemberton (Brian), Katherine Parkinson (Eleanor), Ralf Little (Nick), Emily Berrington (Lisa) and Rufus Jones (Richard) will lead the cast in the production, also directed by Johnson.

Dead Funny follows Eleanor, who wants a baby, and her husband Richard, who runs the Dead Funny Society, which gathers for a celebration when comedy heroes Frankie Howerd and Benny Hill die in the same week.

This will be a 21st anniversary production of the piece, which was first performed in 1994 and starred Zoe Wanamaker and David Haig. Pemberton told the Guardian in 2011 that Wanamaker's performance was one of the best he'd ever seen.

Producer Nica Burns said: "A revival of this wonderful play is long overdue. Like life, it’s as funny as it is moving and needs an outstandingly talented cast. So for the 21st anniversary production, here they are…"
