Cast of Splendour celebrate opening night

The cast of Splendour celebrated opening night at the Donmar Warehouse yesterday evening with guests including Jeremy Irons and Tobias Menzies in attendance.

Robert Hastie directs Abi Morgan's Splendour, which runs until 26 September. It stars Zawe Ashton, Sinéad Cusack, Michelle Fairley and Genevieve O'Reilly.

Splendour offers a perspective on a dictatorship in decline and disarray as it follows four women waiting in an opulent drawing room of the Presidential Palace for the return of a dictator who never appears.
