Phyllida Lloyd, Rosalie Craig and Danielle Tarento to feature in next Tonic Celebrates event

Tony Award-nominated director Phyllida Lloyd will join star of The Light Princess, As You Like It and The Threepenny Opera Rosalie Craig and award-winning producer Danielle Tarento at the next Tonic Celebrates event.
Held at The Other Palace on 24 November, the event brings together a variety of female voices to discuss pressing and relevant issues in the theatre industry. Previous panellists have included director Marianne Elliott, actress Dame Harriet Walter, Globe artistic director Emma Rice, and Tricycle artistic director Indhu Rubasingham.
Lloyd directed Mamma Mia! in the West End, on Broadway and across a worldwide tour, as well as making her feature film debut directing the big screen adaptation starring Meryl Streep. Her other credits include The Shakespeare Trilogy (which was awarded five stars in the WhatsOnStage review), Mary Stuart and the film adaptation of The Iron Lady.
Craig was recently announced as the star in the new UK production of Sondheim's Company alongside Patti LuPone. She will be the first woman to play the role of Bobbi, reimagined by Sondheim with new theatre company Elliott & Harper.
Tarento won the Best Producer award at the Off West End Awards in 2012, and most recently produced the first season of new musicals at the Charing Cross Theatre, including Titanic (which won a WhatsOnStage Award in 2014 and will sail on a UK and Ireland tour in 2018) and Ragtime (nominated for two WhatsOnStage Awards). She is also producing the upcoming production of Mother Courage and Her Children at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2004 Tarento co-founded the Menier Chocolate Factory.
The event is overseen by Tonic Theatre's director Lucy Kerbel, with talks followed by an audience Q&A.
Tonic Celebrates runs at The Other Palace on 24 November from 7.45pm.
