David Greig’s adaptation returned to the Old Vic this week

Rhys Ifans, Jade Anouka, Joe Stilgoe and more joined the cast and creatives of The Lorax for the opening night this week at the Old Vic.

The show returned to the theatre following a Christmas run in 2015. David Greig adapted the piece from the original children's book by Dr Seuss and the story tells of the moustachioed Lorax, who makes it his mission to stop the desecration of the environment by the evil Once-ler.

WhatsOnStage gave the show five stars, with reviewer Alex Wood saying The Lorax "is a show brimming with life, preserving and transplanting the heart of Seuss' message from page to stage without disturbing its roots."

The Lorax runs at the Old Vic until 5 November.
