Leaving at the interval: What you thought

Last week, Robert Icke told The Stage that he walks out of shows "all the time". This promoted WhatsOnStage critic Alun Hood, who has had a recent change of heart on the matter, to ask "is it ever OK to walk out?"

You got in touch in your droves to let us know your thoughts. Of the 2,486 responses to our poll asking if you'd ever left a production during an interval, 1,468 answered "yes."

Despite this, a huge number got in touch on Twitter and Facebook. to tell us that you don't see anything wrong with leaving during the interval, and many of you have.

@WhatsOnStage I have done on rare occasions when I’ve not been feeling well. Would have to be a very bad show for me to leave it though

@whatsonstage Absolutely – everything from Fringe to NT. If a show’s bad or sleep-inducingly dull, why should you waste any more time on it?
