A new radio station dedicated to musical theatre has been launched today.

Encore Radio is a new station that will feature Blue singer Duncan James and ex-Classic FM DJ James Crick as presenters. It began broadcasting 24 October at 1pm.

The station will play a mix of West End and Broadway songs as well as news, weather and features. The station playlist is changed monthly and will feature songs from current West End shows such as Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera.

To listen to Encore you can download the app for tablet and smartphones, listen online and on DAB radios across London and the south east.

Encore will run seven days a week for 24 hours a day.

James said: "I can’t wait to get to share three hours every Sunday morning on Encore Radio from 10am with other musical theatre fans across the country. I’ll be playing my favourite tracks – Miss Saigon has to be my all-time favourite show, it was probably the first musical I saw live – and I’ll have lots of my showbiz friends dropping it to chat. It’s going to be great fun!"
