Photos: First look at Billie Piper in Yerma

Piper stars alongside Brendan Cowell in the production at The Young Vic

Production images have been released of Billie Piper in Yerma at The Young Vic.

Based on Federico García Lorca's 1934 play, Yerma is written and directed by Simon Stone – the Australian's first original work for the UK.

Piper plays will play the titular character whose inability to have children tears her life apart.

The cast also includes Brendan Cowell, Maureen Beattie, John MacMillan, Charlotte Randle and Thalissa Teixeira.

The production will feature design by Lizzy Clachan, music and sound by Stefan Gregory, light by James Farncombe and costumes by Alice Babidge.

Yerma runs at the Young Vic from 4 August to 24 September, with previews from 28 July.
