Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing to make UK concert debut

George and Ira Gershwin’s Pulitzer prize-winning musical comedy will play at the Festival Hall on 31 July

George and Ira Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing will make its UK concert debut at the Royal Festival Hall later this year, as part of its series of musicals in concert.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy will come to the Southbank on 31 July 2015, following the previously announced How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on 19 May.

Featuring songs including the title song and "Who Could Ask For Anything More?", Of Thee I Sing takes a satirical look at American politics.

Casting and creative team for the concert, which is produced by Senbla, is to be announced.

Producer Ollie Rosenblatt said: "What better year to bring to the Royal Festival Hall stage Of Thee I Sing. Politics, great music, this was one of Gershwin’s masterpieces, and reminds us why the Gershwins remains as relevant today as they ever did."
