Marc Pickering's theatre credits include The Toxic Avenger (Southwark Playhouse), The Stripper (St James Studio) and An Incident at the Border (Trafalgar Studios). His screen credits include the film adaptations of Les Miserables and The Calendar Girls.

He is currently starring in the revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at Wilton's Music Hall.

We caught up with Marc and asked him: "If you were stranded on a desert island which five showtunes could you not live without?"

1. "Believe in You" from How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying

I can’t not put a song from the show I'm promoting eh, that would be pretty silly, but honestly this is my favourite to sing in the show, it’s Finch's love song to himself in the mirror before the meeting of his life.

2. "Saying a Word" from Blood Brothers

I want to play Mickey at some point in my career and although this isn’t a song of his, my fellow cast member from How to Succeed, Andrew C Wadsworth, played Eddie in the original Barbara Dickson production. You're welcome Andrew.

3. "Heaven On Their Minds" from Jesus Christ Superstar

The first rock musical I ever heard and fell in love with. I played Herod in an amateur production wearing armbands and Hawaiian shorts – good times. I would love to play Pilot one day.

4. "Who Loves You" from Jersey Boys

One of my mum's favourite songs, that’s it basically, my family love this show.

5. Who Will Save New Jersey? from Toxic Avenger

I had the pleasure to be in this great new musical last year. It's almost South Park-esque, and has a great rock score from David Bryan of Bon Jovi. I had the time of my life. We're hoping to bring it to town again in the future. Watch this space!
