Musical Yank! to transfer to London this summer

A new production of musical Yank! is to transfer to the Charing Cross Theatre in London later this year.

Yank!, which has a book and lyrics by David Zellnik, is about the history of gay soldiers during World War Two and focuses on Stu, a youngster who signs up in 1943 and writes for the military newspaper.

With music from Zellnik's brother Joseph, the got its UK premiere at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester earlier this year.

Directed by James Baker (Parade, Hope Mill), the production will open on 10 July, with previews from 3 July.

The piece will feature choreography by Chris Cuming, design from Victoria Hinton and musical direction from James Cleeve.

Full casting is yet to be announced.
