Olivier Award-winners Mischief Theatre will perform a new show, A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, on BBC One this December.

After the success of their Peter Pan Goes Wrong last Christmas, the company, whose The Play That Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery are currently running in the West End, return to the small screen for their hour-long show, with dates to be announced. The Play That Goes Wrong is also currently running on Broadway, and will embark on a UK tour in the new year.

Based on the Dickens classic, the show will feature as-yet-unannounced guest stars and performers. Last year David Suchet presented the show. Members of Mischief Theatre cast in the show are David Hearn, Chris Leask, Henry Lewis, Charlie Russell, Jonathan Sayer, Henry Shields, Greg Tannahill and Nancy Zamit.

Mischief Theatre artistic director, Lewis, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to be back on the BBC this Christmas, but it is regrettable the BBC don't know it yet".

Company director, Sayer, said: "I didn't know we were doing this? Do you know when it is filming?"

The company will also present their new improvised show Mischief Movie Nights at the Arts Theatre from 13 December.
