The West End production of Matilda the Musical has announced a new online ticket lottery, which begins on 5 March.

The rolling lottery will offer the chance to buy two Band A tickets at £25 for the show, with successful applicants notified three to five days in advance. The new scheme will run alongside the production's existing scheme to provide 16 £5 tickets per performance for those aged 16 to 25, which can be purchased on the day at the venue's box office.

The production has also announced new casting today, with Sara Munday and Olivia Wells joining as two of the Matildas alongside Lily-Mae Evans and Savannah Read. The current cast includes David Shannon as Miss Trunchbull and Gina Beck as Miss Honey.

The UK tour of the musical written by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, opens next week at Curve, Leicester before touring into 2019. The production, which debuted in Stratford in 2011 before transferring into the West End, won a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards in 2012.

Matilda runs at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End, with the UK tour opening next week at Curve, Leicester.
