Jeremy Irvine cast in Buried Child at Trafalgar Studios

War Horse actor Jeremy Irvine has been cast in Scott Elliott's production of Buried Child in London.

The actor is best known for appearing in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's book, and will join the previously announced Ed Harris and Amy Madigan who starred in an off-Broadway revival of the play earlier this year.

Sam Shepard's play tackles the idea of the American dream set against a backdrop of an economic slowdown, and opens at Trafalgar Studios in December.

In his review for TheaterMania, Zachary Stewart called the production "fascinating", adding it would "haunt you for days".

Buried Child will run at Trafalgar Studios from 1 December until 18 February 2017, with previews from 24 November.
