James Corden's opening number at the 2016 Tony Awards

Corden hosted the 70th annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre in New York yesterday evening

After opening the Tony Awards with a monologue which paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting, host James Corden went on to perform a medley of numbers riffing on Broadway shows from Lion King to Sweeney Todd to Les Mis. In a tweet sent this morning, Corden thanked fellow Brit Gary Barlow and American writer David Javerbaum for their help in writing the opening skit.
