James Corden attends opening night of Ink with Bertie Carvel and Richard Coyle

James Graham’s new play looks at the beginnings of the ”Sun” newspaper

Stars including James Corden, Rafe Spall and Nikki Amuka-Bird joined the cast of James Graham's new play Ink at the Almeida for the first night.

Charting the beginnings of the Sun newspaper, Ink stars Bertie Carvel as Rupert Murdoch and Richard Coyle as the paper's editor Larry Lamb. The production is directed by Rupert Goold and has garnered strong reviews across the board.

Writing for WhatsOnStage Sarah Crompton said Carvel's performance is "Unmissable… It would have been easy to turn such a hate figure into a caricature, but Carvel gets under his skin."

Ink runs at the Almeida Theatre until 5 August.
