Casting announced for Hoxton Hall's all-female musical

Susie McKenna will direct the show’s world premiere production

Casting has been announced for the world premiere production of Oranges and Elephants, due to open at Hoxton Hall in 2018.

The show will be directed by Susie McKenna and tells the story of two Victorian gangs in London and blends music hall with musical theatre. The cast is Kate Adams (Flo), Rebecca Bainbridge (Ada), Susannah van den Berg (Chair), Rosalind Ford (Nora), Liz Kitchen (Annie), Natasha Lewis (Violet), Sinead Long (Mary), Kate Marlais (Maggie), Christina Tedders (Nellie) and Sarah J Warren (Minnie).

Lil Warren and Jo Collins' musical is about Mary, who arrives in London and wants to be a music hall star but two gangs want to own her. Warren, who has written the book and lyrics, is from the East End and her other credits include Nine Lives, Ten Tales, Blackout (Soho Theatre), Lost Souls and Lunatics, Strange The Road (The Hope Theatre) and a promenade production of The Changeling.

The show is opening the theatre's spring season Female Parts, which also includes a trio of short monologues which will run through March and A Mother and A Woman Alone by Franca Rame and Dario Fo.

Oranges and Elephants runs from 25 January to 10 February with previews from 23 January.
