Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda: 'It's been an absolute joy to fall in love with London'

We spoke with the writer and composer at the opening night of ”Hamilton” in the West End

Lin-Manuel Miranda's hip hop musical, Hamilton, opened in the West End last night and we were there to chat to the writer on the red carpet, as well as some of the assembled guests including Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, super-choreographer Matthew Bourne and producer Cameron Mackintosh.

The musical, which tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton and won 11 Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize, stars Jamael Westman in the title role alongside Giles Terera as Aaron Burr, Michael Jibson as King George, Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza Schuyler, Rachel John as Angelica Schuyler, Christine Allado as Peggy Schuyler and Obioma Ugoala as George Washington. In her five-star review for WhatsOnStage, Sarah Crompton said: "By the time the show had finished, I wanted to rewind to the very start and watch it all again."

Hamilton is currently booking at the Victoria Palace Theatre until July 2018.
