Richard Clothier and Gina McKee will be among the cast starring in the upcoming production of The Mother at the Tricycle Theatre.

The show, which transfers from the Ustinov Studio in Bath, is by award-winning playwright Florian Zeller who returns to the Tricycle following the critically-acclaimed sell-out run of The Father which has now transferred to the Wyndham’s Theatre.

Reprising their roles will be Richard Clothier (King Lear, Richard III) as The Father, Peter, Gina McKee (Richard III, Aristocrats) as The Mother, Anne and William Postlethwaite (Brave New World, Longing) as The Son, Nicholas.

They will be joined by new cast member Frances McNamee (Love's Labour's Lost, Pride and Prejudice) as The Girl, Élodie.

The production, which will be directed by Laurence Boswell with a new translation by Christopher Hampton, centres around Anne as she copes with hours alone after her children have grown up and have lives of their own.

The Mother runs at the Tricycle Theatre from January 26 to March 5 2016.
