First look: Natalie Dormer and David Oakes in Venus in Fur

The show, directed by Patrick Marber, runs at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 6 October

The first image has been released for the West End run of Venus in Fur, David Ives' hit Broadway play.

Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer will feature alongside David Oakes in Ives' comedy about an actress who appears unannounced for an audition. Based on Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's 1870 novel, Venus in Fur premiered off-Broadway in 2010.

Directed by Patrick Marber, the production will have design by Rob Howell.

Best known for playing Margaery Tyrell in HBO's Game of Thrones, Dormer's other screen credits include The Tudors and The Hunger Games. She reunites with Marber, who wrote After Miss Julie (Young Vic) in which she played the title role. Her other stage credits include Sweet Nothings (Young Vic) and .45 (Hampstead Theatre).

Oakes' TV credits include Victoria, The Borgias and The Pillars of the Earth. He was last seen in the West End playing Kit Marlowe in Shakespeare In Love at the Nöel Coward Theatre.
