Images have been released of the cast rehearsing Lucy Kirkwood's latest play The Children.

Actors Ron Cook, Francesca Annis and Deborah Findlay star in the piece which is about two retired scientists living in an isolated cottage by the sea. They are visited by an old friend with a surprising request.

Kirkwood's other plays include Chimerica and NSFW – which was also staged at the Royal Court. James Macdonald directs the piece which is designed by Miriam Buether.

The Children runs at the Royal Court from 17 November to 14 January.
