Felicity Kendal and Maureen Lipman rehearse Lettice and Lovage

Peter Shaffer’s play is being directed by Trevor Nunn at the Menier Chocolate Factory

Images have been released of Maureen Lipman and Felicity Kendal rehearsing for Trevor Nunn's upcoming production of Lettice and Lovage.

Opening at the Menier Chocolate Factory in May, Peter Shaffer's play is about a tour guide who is caught embellishing the history of the stately home she works at. The satire originally premiered in Bath in 1987 and was written for Maggie Smith, who originated the role of Lettice.

Nunn returns to the Menier to direct the piece following his recent production of Love in Idleness.

Lettice and Lovage will run at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 17 May to 8 July, with previews from 4 May.
