Natalie Andreou will be joining the cast of Wicked from 2 February 2015, WhatsOnStage can confirm.

Andreou, who most recently starred as Sherrie in Rock of Ages at the Shaftesbury Theatre, will play Standby Elphaba.

As previously announced, Emma Hatton assumes the role of Elphaba from 2 February, taking over from US star Jennifer DiNoia, who was recently nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award.

The London production also currently stars Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero), Liza Sadovy (Madame Morrible), Martyn Ellis (The Wizard), Philip Childs (Doctor Dillamond), Sam Lupton (Boq), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Emma Hatton (Standby Elphaba) and Sophie Linder-Lee (Standby Glinda).

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked tells the untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students.

Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
