Ed Harris: London's Buried Child will be darker than New York's

Scott Elliot’s production opens at the Trafalgar Studios on 1 December

We got the chance to sit down with Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, Jeremy Irvine and Charlotte Hope to chat about their upcoming production of Sam Shepard's Buried Child.

The show, which transfers from New York, is directed by Scott Elliott and will open on 1 December. Buried Child is set in a recession-hit rural America in 1979, where farmers Dodge (Harris) and Halie (Madigan) are struggling to keep their farm afloat. When their grandson Vince (Irvine) arrives with his girlfriend Shelly (Hope) they don't recognise him, which plunges everything into confusion.

Harris is a frequent collaborator on Shepard's plays and in 1983 the playwright penned the role of Eddie in Fool for Love for him.
