A double bill of solo Charles Dickens plays – Dickens with a Difference – is coming to Trafalgar Studios 2 in December.

The show comprises Miss Havisham's Expectations starring Linda Marlowe and James Swanton's Sikes & Nancy.

Miss Havisham's Expectations, first seen at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe, is billed as an "original take on one of Dickens' best loved novels". Written and directed by Di Sherlock, it sees Marlowe play the iconic jilted bride as she tells her side of the Great Expectations story.

Sikes & Nancy is adapted and performed by James Swanton based on Dickens' own legendary readings. According to press material, "Swanton, dressed entirely in black, enacts the compellingly and terrible story of Dickens' most famous murder".

The productions, both London premieres, run from 12 December 2014 to 3 January 2015 (previews from 9 December).
