A new book by former Guildhall School of Music & Drama teacher Ken Rea, The Outstanding Actor, Seven Keys To Success, was launched at Daunt Books on Cheapside last night with guests including Damian Lewis, Hayley Atwell, Freddie Fox and Nikesh Patel.

The book explains how actors such as Lewis, Dominic West and Daniel Craig managed to stand out in the acting profession.

Talking about the book, Homeland star Lewis – soon to appear opposite John Goodman in American Buffalo – said: "This is a wonderful book with a unique take on how actors can get better and improve their chances of success. If we can all perform with half the warmth and generosity with which Ken has been teaching for the last 30 years, then we will have fulfilled our responsibility as story tellers, and audiences all over the world are in for a real treat."
