Claire Sweeney joins cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Claire Sweeney will play Baronness Bomburst in the touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Sweeney will join the show from 3 August this year, to replace Michelle Collins who steps down from the role following dates at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Sweeney will join the cast which includes Lee Mead, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Jason Manford and Shaun Williamson.
The musical is the Sherman Brothers' stage version of the 1968 film about a family with a flying car. The production has choreography from Stephen Mear and is directed by West Yorkshire Playhouse artistic director James Brining.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tours the UK until 4 February next year.
