Full casting has been announced for Jonathan Larson's Tick… Tick… Boom!, which opens at the Park Theatre in May.

Chris Jenkins (The Burnt Part Boys) will play Jonathan, Jordan Shaw (Motown) will play Michael, and Gillian Saker (Ripper Street) will play Susan.

Larson's autobiographical musical tells the story of an aspiring composer named Jon, who lives in New York City in 1990 and is worried he has made the wrong career choice. It was performed as a monologue by Larson in workshop productions throughout the '90s.

After Larson died – the night before his hit show Rent opened – Tick… Tick… Boom! was reworked by playwright David Auburn as a three-actor piece and opened off-Broadway in 2001. It received its UK premiere at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2005 with a cast including Neil Patrick Harris and Cassidy Janson.

Directed by Bronagh Lagan (Promises, Promises) this revival will have musical direction by Gareth Bretherton and design by Nik Corrall.

Tick… Tick… Boom! runs at the Park Theatre from 8 to 27 May 2017, with previews from 3 May.
