Full casting has been announced for Gary Owen's new play, Killology, which opens at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff next month before transferring to London's Royal Court in May.

Directed by Sherman Theatre's artistic director Rachel O’Riordan, the cast features Seán Gleeson (The Weir, Curious Incident), Richard Mylan (Coupling, Starlight Express) and Sion Daniel Young (Curious Incident).

Killology, which reunites Owen and O'Riordan following their critically acclaimed production Iphigenia in Splott, is about a controversial new gaming experience in which players are rewarded for torturing victims.

Talking about the production, O’Riordan said: "Getting brilliant actors and a brilliant writer together is a powerful mix; and this team features some of our most exciting talent."

Owen added: "Since taking over at the Royal Court, Vicky has worked hard to bring new voices to its stages.

"So it's entirely unsurprising that the Royal Court's first co-production with a Welsh theatre should happen under her reign. We've got a fantastic gang of actors, and I can't wait to see what Rachel's going to do with them."

It premieres at the Sherman Theatre from 28 March to 8 April, with previews from 24 March before transferring to the Royal Court from 30 May to 24 June, with previews from 25 May.

Owen returns to the Court following the award-winning Violence and Son, which ran at the venue in the summer of 2015.

Killology runs at Sherman Theatre from 28 March to 8 April, and at the Royal Court from 30 May to 24 June.
