Casting announced for Much Ado About Nothing at Selfridges

Rufus Hound, Simon Callow CBE and Meera Syal will make ‘digital cameos’

Casting has been announced for Much Ado About Nothing at a new pop-up theatre in Selfridges.

Daniel Boyd (Oppenheimer, RSC) and Alison O’Donnell (Boys, The National Theatre Scotland) will lead the cast as Beatrice and Benedick.

Joining them will be Caroline Langrishe (Judge John Deed), Jude Owusu (Julius Caesar, RSC), Harry Lister Smith (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Tala Gouveia (Husbands and Sons, National Theatre), Christopher Hughes (The Talented Mr Ripley), and Jamie Maclachlan (Four Minutes). Lowri Izzard makes her professional stage debut as Hero.

Simon Callow CBE, Rufus Hound and Meera Syal CBE will also appear in the production as three of five 'digital cameos'.

The production is the first at the new 100-seat space at the department store, who have teamed up with British theatre company The Faction to create The reFASHIONed Theatre.

Much Ado About Nothing runs at The reFASHIONed Theatre, Selfridges from 23 August to 24 September.
