Casting announced for Bye Bye Birdie

Casting has been announced for a new production of Bye Bye Birdie at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre, with Zac Hamilton (Princess Ida) leading the cast alongside Liberty Buckland (Yarico).

The cast also includes Ryan Forde Iosco, Jayne Ashley, Benedikt De La Bedoyere, Lucas James, Lewis Asquith, Abigail Matthews, Beth Bradley, Emily Noke, Harry Hart, Stephanie Lyse, Stephen Loriot, Flora Charlton and Stephanie Palmer.

Originally titled Let's Go Steady, the musical is a satire based on American society in the 50's. The story follows America's hottest rock sensation, Conrad Birdie, as he is inducted into the U.S. Army and is inspired by Elvis Presley's own draft notice into the Army.

Produced by All Star Productions and directed by James Hume, Bye Bye Birdie will feature choreography by Anthony Whiteman and musical direction by Aaron Clingham.

Bye Bye Birdie runs at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre from 14 August to 4 September.
