Casting has been announced for the world premiere of new comedy The Retreat, which will debut at the Park Theatre next month.

Actor and rapper Adam Deacon, known for his roles in Kidulthood, will be joined by Samuel Anderson, star of Doctor Who and The History Boys in the show, which also stars Yasmine Akram. Akram appeared in season 2 of BBC's Sherlock and Netflix's Lovesick. Her film A Date for Mad Mary won the Irish Film and Television Award for Best Film in 2017.

The play will be written by the award winning Sam Bain, the co-creator of Peep Show, creator of Fresh Meat and co-writer on Four Lions. It is directed from award-winning actor and director Kathy Burke, whose previous credits include Blue/Orange, Betty and The God of Hell.

The 90-minute comedy follows brothers Luke and Tony in a highland retreat up a Scottish mountain, haunted and bombarded with reminders of their past and inability to find future tranquility. Set and costume design is by Paul Wills with lighting design by Paul Keogan and sound design by John Leonard.

The Retreat runs at the Park Theatre from 7 November to 2 December, with previews from 2 November.
