Cast announced for Lyric Hammersmith's Christmas panto

Ellen McDougall will direct this year’s production of ”Aladdin”

Full casting has been announced the this year's panto at the Lyric Hammersmith.

Aladdin will star Karl Queensborough as the titular character after he played the Prince in last year's production of Cinderella.

Malinda Parris (Robin Hood) will play Genie, Allyson Ava-Brown (The Quiet House) will play Jasmine and comedian Vikki Stone (Uncle) will play Abanazer.

Emperor will be played by Dale Rapely (A Christmas Carol), James Doherty (Eventide) will play Widow Twankey and Arthur McBain (Dunsinane) will play Wishy Washy.

Written by Joel Horwood, the panto will be directed by Ellen McDougall, who was appointed artistic director of the Gate Theatre last month.

The set will be designed by Oliver Townsend with music by Corin Buckeridge and choreography by Lainie Baird.

Aladdin runs at the Lyric Hammersmith from 26 November 2016 to 7 January 2017, with previews from 19 November.
