First look at Caroline, or Change in rehearsals

Rehearsal pictures have been released of the upcoming production of Caroline, or Change which transfers to Hampstead Theatre following a run at Chichester Festival Theatre.

The show stars Sharon D Clarke as Caroline Thibodeaux in the piece, which has a book and lyrics by Tony Kushner and music from Jeanine Tesori. It tells of Caroline, a black maid in a white family's household in the '60s in Louisiana.

In his review of the show's Chichester run, critic Matt Trueman described the piece as a "remarkable, unblinking chamber musical".

Caroline, or Change runs at Hampstead Theatre from 19 March to 21 April, with previews from 12 March.
